Food for thought (lunch time special) --- You don't owe anyone an explanation

bod.

As I journey to become That Girl, this has been quite the lesson to learn- you don't owe anyone an explanation for anything.

How often do we feel the need to explain our decisions? our lifestyle? our relationships?

My husband and I are in the very long process of looking for our first house. Every time I tell someone about our plan, I start explaining why we want a house, why we are buying a house now, why this and why that. Why do I do this? Because, for some reason, I have this notion that I have to explain myself --- and, I absolutely do not. It is our decision -- there is no need to explain/ convince/ get approval for our decision.

Remember, we create our own journeys. We create our own lives. You are who you are and you do what you do, and that is okay.

Found this on Facebook and wanted to share because we have to stop explaining ourselves and just be:

What's in my June Ipsy Glam Bag? - Day #3

beauty.

Thursday Review:
NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

I was very excited to try this product, and I was not disappointed.

The gloss goes on your lips like well...butter. The color is fantastic --- sheer coverage --- with a nice nude, shine --- no sparkle. My lips felt amazing and hydrated, and the smell was awesome (the taste wasn't bad either).

Use alone for a natural, nude look or on top of your favorite lipstick to add some extra shine. Either way, you and your lips will be happy!

I was surprised to find that this product retails for only $5! What a steal! The gloss comes in 22 shades.

What's in my June Ipsy Glam Bag? - Day #4 (Double Feature)

beauty.

Friday Reviews:
OFRA Universal EyeBrow Pencil and Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara

I don't have much to say about the eyebrow pencil. The color was too dark for me personally. Granted, I don't need extra color in my eyebrows.

The product, Beeswax based, goes on smoothly and would be great for individuals needing to amp up their eyebrows. It would also be useful for eyebrows that just won't stay in place.

OFRA, a South African-based company, offers products for professionals along with makeup and skin care. Check out OFRA online.

I was very excited about the mascara --- the brand typically gets excellent reviews. However, this mascara was a total bust. First off, it smelled disgusting. Despite the smell, I tried it out. It did absolutely nothing for my eye lashes...it was like I didn't even put mascara on.

Luckily, it seems something was wrong with batch created for the June Ipsy bag --- the company has reached out to customers --- so I will probably give the brand another chance.

The mascara retails for $15 and is available online.

What's in my June Ipsy Glam Bag? - Day #2

beauty.

Wednesday Review:
Her by RealTree

Yes, the brand known for camo and all things outdoorsy has branched into ladies fragrance with this sweet spray packaged in pretty, pastel pink. The full-sized bottle is woodsy yet girly --- staying true to the brand.

Although you might expect a woodsy scent, this floral perfume has many layers, with the strongest (for me anyway) being its floral notes. So, if you are not into florals, this perfume is not for you.

Trust me --- a little goes a long way with this one especially initially. Luckily, if you spray too much, the scent fades pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, the pump on my sample broke after the first use, so it no longer sprays. However, I am still able to place it directly on my wrist. The scent is too sweet for me, so I would probably never purchase it for myself.

Camo is not my thing (at all), so the website was a touch overwhelming. Luckily, they have a separate website just for their beauty products.

Check out the RealTree for Her perfume and matching lotion online. Also, check out their RealTree for Him collection for that special dude in your life.

What's in my June Ipsy Glam Bag? - Day #1

beauty.

Tuesday Review:
Dream Waves Beach Spray by Marc Anthony

I was very excited about this product. The product claims to create sexy, tousled beach waves --- so I was game. Additionally, the spray is packed with UV protectors so it keep your hair from drying out in the summer heat.

I initially loved the smell --- yummy hints of coconut. Although you can use the spray on wet or dry hair, I decided to use it on my wet hair.

Use: Spray the product on your hair, scrunch hair, and let air dry.

I let my hair air dry overnight --- the next morning, my hair which has a natural curl had beachy waves. Unfortunately, some areas looked more frizzy than wavy, so I ended up putting my hair up for the day.

You can also blow dry your hair with a diffuser --- which may be a better plan for me.

This product is great for people with straight hair because it definitely gives waves. If you get a little frizz like I did, you can add a little frizz-ease serum in those areas.

Find Marc Anthony products at CVS, Rite Aid, Ulta, and Walgreens.
